What is Samskara?

Sanskrit: संस्कार (saṃskāra)

In yogic philosophy, samskaras are the subtle imprints left behind by our past experiences—like footprints on the path of the mind. Every thought, emotion, action, and reaction leaves a mark, shaping how we see the world, how we move through it, and how we meet the present moment.

Some samskaras lift us up. Others keep us stuck. But all of them tell a story—our story.

At Samskara Yoga, we honor these stories without getting trapped in them. Through movement, breath, stillness, and intention, we gently rewrite the patterns that no longer serve us and nourish the ones that do.
